Sustainable research is an important topic for us. Therefore, we entered into a cooperation with Green Elephant Biotech, a start up that develops sustainable, plant-based cell culture expansion systems.

Qualitatively impeccable research with cell lines is currently only feasible with the use of large quantities of disposable plastic products. The plant-based expansion systems of Green Elephant enable a reduction of plastic waste by 90 % due to their large surface.

We are thrilled by the idea of sustainable alternatives for large scale cell culture and will test Green Elephant’s systems on a variety of growth parameters with selected cell lines.
